Harlequin Shrimp

I am debating over buying a pair of harlequins or just buying a large and small one to pair up.
The "pair" is double the price....... I have had a true pair in the past and they were great to watch!
Anyone have experience pairing these guys up?

I think it would be safer to just buy a pair and not risk having trouble making two pair up yourself.

But I plan to form a pair myself, only becuase there are never pairs available around here, just one. I'm not sure how it'll work. If you do pair them yourself, make sure you know what sex they are so you dont get two males or females.

sexing harlequin shrimp is rather simple look at the pleopods on the abdomen of the shrimp if they are colored then you have a female and if they are clear then you have a male. it's rather simple to pair them up, but raising the larva is a different story.
