harlequin tusk

I've had many tusks over the past 40 yrs, and I consider them slow growers. My present Aussey is about 4" in a 450g DT and gets fed 3x a day, and although I haven't kept track, I'd be surprised to learn that it had grow an inch in the past 2 yrs

They do take their time growing; but are robust fish that need a lot of food. IME & IMO; I think many, if not most fish we keep are underfed. I feed several times a day and use vitamins and a wide variety of foods. HTs need some meaty foods; like raw shrimp chunks, scallop, squid, silversides, etc.

I have a i would say around a 3inch tusk fish in my 300 gallon for a week now. he/or she is doing good eating alot. I would like to move one of my 8" lion fish over to that tank but im not sure, my lion or grouper ate my cleaner shrimp and as fast as the lion fish is growing i think he might not stand a chance.

Decide to keep the grouper and lion in there own tank. Plus the grouper is kinda butt head to new fish.

How can you tell the difference between the Indonesia and Australia as juveniles?

The colors are usually a little 'stronger' on the Ausseys, but if your tusk is actually 3", I would doubt that it was Aussey... It seems that they rarely ship small tusks.
