I'm building a 150....debating reef or fowler. Dream stocking list would look like...Tusk, Powder Blue, maybe a Purple tang, and Possibly moving My potters from my 90 fowler to 150. Possible add one more angel and that's it. That being said. Do I have no shot off adding corals....FYI...the corals that interest me I beleve are SPS...Long branch like growings that you frequesntly see on tank of the month pics?? From what i'm reading...both the tusk and the potters are crap shoots!! is there any hope

I don't have personal experience, but I believe that the corals would be safe with the Tusk. But all inverts would be food, such as shrimp, crabs, snails, etc.

Also, dwarf angels are 50/50. I went with a Flame Angel and I see it nip at my Xenia, just not enough to really bother it. It seams to leave the other stuff alone.

I have had a tusk in my 120 reef for 4 months no problems. Have 3 cleaner shrimp in tank. He eats all foods I put in and is happy. He also sleeps with my cleaner shrimp as well as let's them clean him.

Agree with Falco, corals should be safe, but crustacean make up the majority of their diet in the wild and would not be safe long term.....I hope it works out with the shrimp long term Darth, you never know it could.

Darth you are one lucky reefer.. i have never heard of a tusk being reef safe before...

Really? Reef safe is such a stupid term. I have had them in reefs frequently, and they MAY pick at small crabs, stars etc, but mine have always been quite docile. But, then again, I feed til high heaven.
