Has anyone ever paired up majestic angels?

I saw the most gorgeous majestic I've ever seen at the LFS last weekend and am picking him up today. He's about 4.5" long and just beautiful.

I've already got a very small adult. I'm guessing I'll have to keep them in different tanks (which I can do), but was wondering whether anyone has ever paired them up? If it's possible, they would be in a 185 gallon (60x24x30).

The new guy will be QTd for awhile, so I've got time to think about it and do some planning.

Thanks!

I think it would be worth a shot, how big is the one you have now? Hopefully john (copps) or Chris (ccampbell57) with chime in and help, because those guys know a crazy amount about Angels.

We tried 2 in a 6000 once, and it didn't turn out so well. A floating basket was used to acclimate the fish to each other, but it didn't matter, and the smaller majestic had to be removed immediately. These were a full grown, and a 6" fish.

That doesn't sound encouraging. My little one is barely 3" and the other one is pushing 5." Well, even if I lose my nerve and don't try it, I've got a FO the new guy can go into.

Thanks.

Keep in mind, this is only 1 instance. Fish are funny, and stranger things have happened. As long as you have a back-up plan, and it sounds like you do, I think that's most important.
