Has anyone ever tried LIFEGUARD (Haloshield)?

Has anyone had experience, positive or negative, with Instant Ocean's Lifeguard? Please relate your experiences if you actually tried it.

Described as:

Therapeutic treatment for marine fish
Effective against marine Ick and Oodinium
With revolutionary Haloshield, a non-antibiotic agent

Active ingredient listed as 1-chloro-2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-4-imidazolidinone

It is supposed to be safe for fish and the bio-filter, but not inverts. Some macro is sensitive.

Don't bother, it won't work in saltwater (unstable), cannot be used with scaleless species and is actually an oxidizing agent.

What is being treated, what is it being treated for and is the a QT or the main?
Copper can/should only be used in a QT/isolation tank void of CaCO3 organisms and invertebrate life.

I have used lifeguard 3 times now (experimenting) and it does not work!!!!!! Save your money and go with something proven. I have used it on angels, puffers, tangs, clowns, and wrasses and non responded. I would add this one to the snake medicine cabinet.

Thanks for the responses. I normally treat in a hospital tank, but I had a large fish go through a trauma and develop what looked like velvet. I did not have a large enough QT, and was considering treating the tank (FOWLR, bare bottom, no inverts, included scaleless fish). Subsequently, I bought a large rubbermaid container for a QT, isolated the affected fish, and treated with copper. But it was too late, lost the fish anyway.

What was recently introduced to the tank/how long ago and how was the fish traumatized?

If nothing was recently introduced (days/a week at most), this was not velvet.
