Has anyone used the Lifegard Aquatics acrylic scratch remover kit or sanded acrylic?

Like a dummy, I didn't realize a snail was on my tunze care magnet and boom a 13 inch scratch straight across my 300G acrylic tank display.

I did some reading on the reviews on this kit, seems favorable...

To test the insane idea of trying to sand acrylic, I took a snail shell and scratched one of the section lids that came with my tank I don't use. I bought wet dry 3200, 4000, 6000, 8000 and 12000 grit sandpaper from hobbylobby. I started going left right with 3200 about 30 times (25-30 seconds) and then up/down with the next grit and then back to left right...repeating all the way up to 12000 grit (same time intervals with each step). Scratch is now gone but there is a fine haze now...

I tried brute forcing the 12000 grit and can't seem to get rid of the haze. I am not sure how much better this kit mentioned in the title is than normal sand paper but am worried about going to town against my nice 300 tank in fear i'll make it worse.

I've read people attach the sandpaper to a magnet with a rubber band and only go over 20-30 times with each step. Does that seem right? Hardly any instructional videos out there that don't use polishing compound and electric sanders/buffers. I can't drain the tank, too many high dollar SPS on the top of rocks...

Did you go a different direction with each size. You should do side to side with one then up and down with the other.
I have done with many times on my tank and never had any issues.

do you still see the 'haze' on the test panel, when placed under water?

very interesting...I set it on top of the water of my pool and it's clear as can be. Looks like the water removes the haze...once I dried it off the haze was back. It appears the water eliminates the haze.

Promising!
