Anyone have pics of colors that have been burnt by to much light or to much light to quick I think that what happening I replaced one of my bulbs recently now this and I bumped it up to a 400 from a 250

I meant pic of corals or sps to be specific... Can't seem to find any on the internet ... One thing that's wierd is I replaced the bulb 3 weeks ago .... I have low nutrients on my tank and replaced my carbon a week ago along with rowaphos I'm thinking maybe water to clear along with new bulb and nutrients ... Not sure been also considering taking gfo and carbon off line having random rtn and my phosphate and nitrates are not really measuring

Is the stringy stuff algae, RTN'ing coral flesh, or something else? I burned a nice bird's nest when I upgraded my lights a few years ago. The first signs were the beginning of bleaching on the areas directly exposed to light, like the tops of branches. I could see the flesh losing color (bleaching, not browning) before it actually died off. PE was also diminished in these areas.

Acropora will extend mesenterial filaments from the tips in a feed response. If they are tiny whitish strands that might be what you are seeing.

Thanks actually I have seen that aswell last night when I feed ..lots of my other pieces were doing this ... But I figured out what's going on I think I run a lot of rowaphos and rox carbon along with oversized skimmer I do have a lot of fish but also a lot of corals that eat of nutrients I have at least over a 100 diff colony's so I'm kinda starving my tank from nutrients and the corals can not take the lighting as we'll with the nutrient poor water ... I pulled off the gfo and carbon yesturday and still have minimul nitrates and zero phos even after feeding heavy last night and this morn .... I'll take it slow and see what happens ... I had a sweet spot were tank was doing great but I thinki past that spot with to much export causing the corals to lighten along with rtn and tips bleaching ... Sorry for rambbling l
