well tried the coral revive and it took alot to make it work or see the benefit of them actually getting discomfort . when applied it did nothing , i have a bucket with 5 worms and about 16oz of tank water after basting the corals and catching them i watched them slide around the bucket added the revive and nothing they kept on jogging around the bucket added more , more finally 3 caps full to 16oz.of water befoe anything 4 cap finally they curled up and died but took over 10minutes to achieve they should have been dazed at least ..well going to give a coral a dip and hopefully they fall off and die and not the other way around where the coral slimes up and dies and the worms go about there daily shores of eating sps. think for 15 bucks it will go back to the lfs and try the next one coral rx or the prioz something forget the name let me google it

ok another contender to be tried Prazi-pro and flatworm exit have you tried these and how did it go for you , the revive is ok but you need to try alot of it to get it to work and the bottle says right on it this is not a medication , to be used for cleansing new corals etc.

Revive and Coral RX are intended as dips for new corals, freshly cut fragments or struggling corals. They are not intended for usage in tank.

I have had better results with Revive. It has worked for AEFW and MEN (montipora eating nudibranchs). To my knowledge, neither dip will eliminate the eggs of these pests. You have to keep dipping your corals to break up the reproductive cycle and then eliminate the remaining population as they hatch out.

Here is how I dip most of my corals: I put half a capful of Revive into a small tupperware which is then filled with 750ml or 3 cups of tank water. The coral goes into the dip for a set time, depending on what the dip is targeting. Then I baste the coral gently to dislodge any pests. After I am confident the coral is pest free, I place it into a different, clean container filled with tank water, and back into the tank - (ideally a quarantine tank at this point)

Try bayor insect killer. I have been using it lately and it seem to be less stressful on the corals. I have used revive an coral rx. People are also saying it kills the egg but not sure on that.

I just got some sps and I always used revive. Revive help me beat AEFW. However I noticed redbuds on a new coral I acquired and the revive did not do anything to them even at high dosage. I had some concentrated coral rx and ALL of the red bugs started to come off at once. They came off end swam/fell to the bottom. I was actuall surprised at how well it worked

Just to tag along, I have not used revive but recently used Coral Rx for some red bug infested acros. All the bugs fell right off the coral. I will watch them over the coming weeks to see if they return or appear on any other acros. If they do, I'll treat the whole tank with the interceptor method, but I was impressed with how many of the bus were on the bottom of the dip cup with Coral Rx.

I've used coral revive on some new Sps, some didn't do too well with the dip. Smooth skin Acro seem to not react well, some stn one just lost tissue in the bath. Most did fine, but I've been told by two people in person now that coral Rx is the one to use for Sps, and all corals for that matter. Just another bottle of dip to add to my shelf (along with seachem coral dip, the revive, and hydrogen peroxide) next time I get a chance.

For AEFW, Dont use either. Use Bayer insect killer. I just went through an 8 week process of dipping all my acros every 7 days, and only had one colony lose color. I also had noticeable growth during that time. Coralrx and Revive brown corals out almost immediately. I even was dipping hawkins enchinata and A. granulosa and never lost any color. Bayer does not kill the eggs, but it definitely kills the worms.

I'm in the boat with revive harmed my sps, I dipped a couple torts in it a while back they got severely stressed and bleached out. Never used it again. I do coral rx then Bayer, works great.

I'm reading this and thinking I have some 'special' brand of CoralRx... I had red bugs and tried Rx many times with up to 10x recommended dosage without killing single one. All bugs were doing great after the dips. I've also read on their website something like 'not proven to be effective against red bugs'. After that I just nuke my tank with interceptor and it worked great. In my case I used regular CoralRX not Pro concentrate.

I'm doing the same thing as dowtish. Once a week for 8 weeks in a QT. Very pleased to how they respond to the Bayer. My experience with coralRX and Revive is that it seems to be a bit harsher on the corals.

Just bought a bunch of zoas, lps and sps.. (15)... And a bottle of coral rx.

Do you have any wrasses in your tank? I would feed the fish with a turkey baster so they got used to it and associated it with food for a week or so. After that, use the baster to blast off the aefw and the wrasses will eat them up. I have tried this and it worked great. It's better then trying to catch a aefw flying around the tank from the powerheads.
