have you had this happen?

Aww my purple LTA ate my female pink skunk yesterday.:( My husband was cleaning the tank. She got so scared that she dived into the mouth of my anemone. The anemone spit out what it didn't eat today. I wouldn't have found any remains of her if I didn't just feed the anemone last friday. I didn't look like the normal feedings of scallops and had a bit of a pink tent to it.:( So I am pretty sure it was her. Have you had your clown commit suicide? I think I've read about some ones clown doing that.

Oh wow, really sorry to hear ( read ) that. In all my years of keeping clown and anemones I have never had that happen.

That's very strange. Was the clown being hosted by the LTA? I don't see how diving into the mouth would kill it... Saddlebacks routinely go in and out of the mouths of their hosts without damage. I'm sorry for your loss.

He must of scared her really good then. I know there was nothing wrong with her. She was eating like a pig saturday, and she even helped feed the anemone friday. :( This just a complete bummer.Well,..sigh.. I just wanted to see if anyone else have seen the same thing happen.

Thanks for the condolence's everyone..I just hope this won't happen to the male ..which will probably be a female soon. He is acting like nothing happened.
I do have good news though, hubby finally agreed to finding me a red haddoni. So we ordered one at the lfs...I hope they can find me one and if they do I hope its healthy. They said it will only be 250...not a bad price huh? I'll find out this weekend if they can get one.

250 for a red one isn't bad at all.

Will you be picking it up? (( mainly asking if you will be able to see it in person ))

yeah I will look at it first before I buy it ..I know all the signs of an unhealthy anemone..mouth wide open, holes, off color. If it has any of these I will not buy it. :D

Christina that's very exciting!!! Will this be the eventual new home for your new(er) clowns? Are they still doing great? You should post some pics of them in the clownfish pictures needed thread! :)

Case solved! The male pushed her into the anemone when nobody was looking! ;)

Sorry to hear this strange loss. :(

Hey Kim, I would love to take new pictures of my chrysopterus but they are still in the 29 with a fake aquascape. They seem very healthy and I want to keep them that way. I will put them in the display this september. The reason why they have been in the 29 for so long, is because I wanted to make sure no deseases or ich is in my display. All my other fish are in my 56 gallon. They have been there since the middle of June.
Todd-- Do you think a tall 56 gallon is big enough for a haddoni? I am trying to decide on whether I should sell my 120 or 56. I know the 56 gallon will be easier to move but, if its too small for a haddoni then I will sell the 56 gallon.
All there will be is, my two chysopterus, live rock, a haddoni and maybe some soft corals.

Titus77- thanks for making me laugh

Christina -- how big is a 56? ( and don't say 56 gallons. ;) , I mean the length. I have my green one and my blue one in my 58 ( 3' long ) and they are doing fine.

;)
Then I think you will be fine. While they can grow huge, if you don't feed them a ton they wont, and will still be healthy.

Ok - so hijacking for a second - what does the ignore button do anyway?

Christina I'm so excited for you - I can't wait to see more updates about it!

If I had you on ignore, your posts wouldn't show up for me. I would have the option of seeing them, but would have to click a button to see each one.

You tell me, can you tell that I have you on ignore? ;) ;)

But, no they can't tell. The idea behind is that you wouldn't have to read posts of someone that really gets on your nerves, or whatnot. But, I find that those are the posts I want to read the most. ;)
