Has anybody purchased their Anemone(s) from an online web site and if so....

where at?
and
were you satisfied with your purchase?

I'm having a hard time finding a LFS around me that handles Anemones. So I'm looking to maybe buy one (a BTA) off line. But I'm not sure if I will be able to get a healthy one or what kind of condition it would arrive in. So, if anyone has bought theirs off line, it would be very much appreciated to know how your experience was with your purchase.

Thanks,

I received a rock anem and a condy via the mail and both did great.
I didn't order them specifically - they came as part of a TBS package.

i recently ordered a green bubble tip from reefs2go. it should be here sometime this week, if the processing doesnt take much longer :/ i will try to repost once i get it

I have ordered anemone from liveaquaria, they package well but nems do not like shipping much.

I did lose the first one (DOA) and Liveaquaria gave me a full refund including shipping cost, they have excellent customer service, and will make things right if you do not get a healthy anemone.

Please let us know how your order goes. Last week, (Wednesday) I just received an order from Reefs2go and most arrived DOA. In fact, the mandarin had started to decompose in the bag....whitish tufts, etc. and smelled so bad I had to run outside! It was taken to FedEx late in the day and I received it before 9:30am the next morning...not enough time for this to happen. This mandarin (female) had to be mailed actually dead in the small crimped bag. Red scooter blenny DOA. The purple LTA came with a hole in the foot and a large, gaping mouth. Unfortunately, I tried to save it, but yesterday, I had to remove it from my main tank because he was decomposing more. Sadly, Reefs2go is merely a holding station and these operations do not have the facility nor capability to care for these beautiful creatures properly. This was my 3rd order trying to recoup past credit.

Thanks guys, I think I will try my luck and go ahead and order a GBTA from Liveaquaria.

Accordsirh22, please do let us know how your GBTA arrives from Reefs2Go. I am interested in how it turns out for you also after reading kallan's post.

Kalan, you mentioned that this was your 3rd time ordering from Reefs2Go. Did you have previous problems with them also in concerns to live stock?

dang, i hope this one goes well for me too :/ i have ordered from them once before, 2 emerald crabs, some snails and some pods. everything arrived fine, a bit cold for my taste, but everything lived and did well.

i sure hope this order goes the same. i placed it on sunday and have yet to get an order shipped email.

I got my blue S. haddoni from the Fish Collection (one of the best MO place). A H. malu from Live Aquaria. A blue Haddoni from LA that did not make it and the replace one did not make it either (quite a few years ago).
I also attempted Gigantea in the mid 2000 (2003-2005). I ordered 4 from various places none was successful.

Yes, I have placed 3 orders with Reefs2go. On the first order I suffered a lot of losses and was issued a gift card. To use the gift card, I then had to place another order in which I was issued another credit...gift card...for losses incurred of over $158. Only the feather duster made it. I let them keep some of the money due me because I didn't feel like snapping pictures of all the dead snails, etc. I then placed another order, this time, trying to recoup that loss. :headwallblue:

A few minutes after I had placed this order online, Elyse called from Reefs2go demanding $39.99 shipping or no order. Funny, I didn't have trouble checking out online. I believe shipping is only $29.99. I told her that since I lost everything, (except the feather duster) due to one of the bags breaking and the livestock and inverts being beaten to death or dying during shipment that I didn't feel like I should have to pay the shipping fee since the order was over $158.00. Elyse said I would be banned from ever ordering from them again if I did not not pay for shipping. I believe this bad order was a way for them to get credit for dead or sick livestock in their possession since they were mad at me and knew this was my final order with them. What recourse do you think I have? I am going to try and get a refund...we'll see how that goes.

I sincerely hope your order goes well. I was very nice to them and didn't raise any fuss with the 2 previous orders, but this is ridiculous. I've been patient, the gift cards have been outstanding since May of this year. I am pretty sure they will not try and make this right for me. Why should they?......they have an F with the BBB and they explain that it's because they don't pay their dues...why don't they? My experience has been that they do not care about their customers or the delicate animals they sell. Thanks for letting me vent. Take care.

I've ordered a very nice Balinese rbta from divers den, and many many maxi carpet nems plus a rbta from cultivated reef. All came through no problem for me.

I have recieved an h. Malu and a bta from live aquaria in great shape. I also have had luck with bluzooaquatics and there prices are much more reasonable.

well the stuff just got here. it is floating in the tank now but so far the anemone looks to be in good shape, it is firmly rooted to the bag. i have to say, overall, i am pretty disappointed by the size of the frags i bought. they are small, and i mean small.

frogspawn: much smaller than expected
candy cane: small to about what i expected
sponge: actually not a bad size at all, about what i expected maybe a hair larger
gbta: a hair smaller than i expected, but not a bad size
blue/purple mushrooms: a bit smaller than i expected
2 different zoas: i ordered 15 heads total, and it looks like i maybe got 17 heads total, cant complain on that one

i guess as long as everything is healthy i cant complain too much. ill try to get pics of the nem once its settled

just realized also, i had a cup/scroll coral in my cart. and at some point when i checked out, it vanished :( so i didnt get that one. i have no idea what happened/where it went

Well, I'm very happy to say that my speckled GBTA came in today looking very healthy. Tightly closed mouth and stuck to the side of the bag. I dripped acclimated it for 2 hours. Then I held it in place where I wanted it in my DT and so far, it has stayed right where I placed it.

I also ordered a randell's pistol shrimp and he is doing just fine also.

I ordered both of them from Reefs2Go and everything came in just as ordered and in very good shape. I also like the fact that they labelled all the bags and the packing was done very nicely. I also received all my emails from them as stated before shipping and the day of shipping. I'm very pleased!

Accordsirh22, I'm glad you had no problems with your order also. Thanks for replying back and letting us know how it turned out for you.

Happy Reefing

I got it by chance. I ordered a GBTA and when I opened the box, I was very pleased to see it was speckled. If this one does well for me, I want to get a green and a rose BTA. I have left the whole right side of my reef free of any corals in order to have this section of my reef dedicated to BTA's. And hopefully when I get my clowns in about 4 months, they will host with my BTA.

Yours looks really great also. I'm glad it went well for the both of us.

Purple gigantea from Gonzo's Corals. Came in perfect, doing well 4 months in, even despite a bad encounter with a Vortech. Would definitely recommend them again.
