Hawaii Reef Fish Whitelist Species

The Hawaiian aquarium fish trade has never been more regulated and fish populations are healthy. Not really sure what the point of that video was?? You want to make people aware of something put up a video of Indonesian fisherman using cyanide to catch fish while killing anything and everything around the said fish. There are NO regulations in Indonesia (at least that are followed) Hawaii isn't the problem and law makers there have a hard on for people in the aquarium trade... not because they care about the fish, it's because they care about money

Lol Snorkel Bob, a conservationist with extremist views. Trying to stir up drama, eh?

Yeah and pulling numbers out of thin air about fish populations... I'm sure snorkel Bob was enjoying a fish sandwich while making that video

I only watched it to the Dascyllus albisella malarkey - total nonsense!
Nobody is burning off a $20 Hawaiian Dascyllus for cycling a tank - way too hard to get and way too expensive. For that you use designer clowns as that's what they were designed for :debi:

This. Snorkel Bob and his cronies love to single out the aquarium trade because it's an easy target with no lobbyists to fight back. If they were really serious about reef conservation, they would go after the fishing industry which has overfished Hawaiian waters. They are not interested in facts.

Didn't watch the video but I will say this past summer after several dives, to include 3 wrecks, I've never seen so many fish compared to my previous visits. I do not know what Hawaii has with regards to environmental constraints but I'd like to think along the same lines has Dmorty217.

There really was a lot of healthy fish this year compared to others. Also corals. I was surprised. Still not up to my dives in Monterey :) But I was able to see a lot more fish and eels compared to prior. I had to go back through my dive log and notes - I was that surprised.
