Hawaiian Day Octopus

Here's a pic of mine. I'm hoping to keep him 2 more months before he outgrows the tank and I have to release him. This is a picture of my cleaner shrimp trying to clean him. (It's funny to watch, the octo doesn't seem to like being touched by him, it looks a lot like a kitten taunting a big dog.)

Incredible! beautiful cyanea. Have you had any escpe attempts? I would love to see more pics displaying patterns and texture.

He doesn't seem interested in escaping at all. He will reach out of the water on occasionb, but it's mostly to grab at me or check out anything laying on top the tank. I'll take a picture of him feeding on live crab later this week and post it; that's when he usually shows his best colors. Here's one with his skin a bit more smooth.

Is the "little kitten" still alive?

They're all still living together peacefully. I go out every weekend trying to find a smaller one, but so far no luck. I must have flipped over 1000 rocks by now, and only found one baby, and then that one slipped out of my hand.
