HD/Lowes and Sand

I need the finest aquarium safe (Of Course ) sand I can find. Does Home Depot or Lowes carry Aquarium Safe extra fine sand? This will be for my 90 gallon tank and I want about a 1 inch sand bed... How many pounds would I need?

Oh- ;) Go to YR and get some fine and med arogonite. Its usually $.99/Lb. I know they have three different grades and I know that O st have the same selection at the same price.

If you plan on being able to syphon it when cleaning, you should get a heavier grade so you don't syphon it out during water changes.

I won't be siphoning the sand. I'll have some form of sand shifter for that

Does YR have white sand?

I like how it says straight up how it is safe for aquariums...
Would 50 pounds be enough to have a 1 inch cover?

Yes on YR and the white sand. I had an aggressive FOWLR tank and that is why I ask these questions.

Does anyone have a Copper test kit I can borrow? I have some DoloWhite sand (very fine white dolomite sand) and I wonder if it will work. Only $3.60/50lb!

Hey, this place is located in San Francisco. I'll probably be making a trip down there to one of the fish wholesalers in the next few weeks. We should make a trip of it and pick up a truckload of sand, too.
