Anyone want a healthy yellow tang? I am absolutely shuttting down my second 90. 58% bump in electric prices *!!$&% electric company someone should be taken out to the woodshed for this Fcku-up.

don't need another yellow tang, Tom.

but you got that right about the rate increase. gonna hurt some. but rather than cut back my tanks, i'm thinking its time to replace my 18 year old heat pump. its probably a SEER 8 or 9. and just sucks KWHR's of power to no good use. a neighbor replaced his last year with a SEER 13 or 14 two speed unit, and cut his electric bill nearly in half. a big investment though. but old heat pumps only have a life expectancy of 10-15 years anyway before they rot welds and spring a leak. Its time.

Hmmm, might look into a tankless water heater too. that would save some more power use. the gas units work better, but im all electric so i'll have to go with an electric tankless heater. hmmm, my current heater is 18 years old too!! i guess i could break down a couple misc. tanks taking up space. that would help some.. but im stuck. time to start stacking solar on the roof and get off the grid. .

The tankless water heaters are fabulous. I just saw them profiled recently.

Getting off the grid is tough, not to mention, initially rather expensive. We plan to get off the grid as much as possible as soon as we get a house (late summer/early fall).

Insulate..Insulate..Insulate.. and passive solar winter heating too. the more you can cut the need to heat or cool the better. it means a smaller solar aray.

In a 90 now and happy?

Does that mean your keeping him or he's still available and happy in a 90 gallon sized tank? Wasn't sure what you meant lol.

If he's still available I could pick him up Thursday (May 4th) after work if that's good for you? Between 6 and 8pm is best for me if that also works for you? Please let me know.
