Heartbroken...marine velvet outbreak!

I'm learning a hard lesson! I just bought some coppersafe and I am getting ready to set up a hospital tank and remove my fish from the dt. I have watched several die and now some suffering so I'm going to try to save them. I have never used copper before and would love some advice. I have a few fish that are really bad off and a couple that are unaffected so far. I'm assuming I get them all out and treat everybody? Any advice will help.
Thanks,
Barbara

maybe Tom (tmz) will have some useful advice for treatment. Or try the fish disease forum here on RC. Marine velvet is brutal. Knock on wood I haven't had an outbreak of any fish disease in years. Treatments have always been (by and large) mostly ineffective for me. I've never had success curing velvet.

This is why I always purchase fish from trusted local sources and make sure to QT. Very painful lesson.

The most humane way to euthanize is the freezer. Good luck.

Velvet wouldn't happen spontaneously. Did you add a new fish to the Display? I hope you can cure your remaining fish, but let's also see if we can come up with an explanation of how they got so sick.

I had a bad run of ich a few months back. And tmz helped out a lot. We need some kind of a batman signal for him.
