Heat a Small Tank

I'm looking to setup a small tank (2.5) gallons with a bumblebee goby and maybe a hermit or two. How do people heat such small tanks? I tried my smallest heater in it once and it kept the water at almost 100 degrees.

Maybe the pump will keep it hot enough, maybe to hot.

HEY, for that small a tank the heat from the lights is probably too much so cooling is the bigger issue.Have fun

You can use a 25 watt heater if you can find one. Seems like a lot but small tanks change temp at the drop of a hat.

Thanks guys. I'm doing some temperature testing now. The powerhead may heat things up just enough.

That is going to be hard to keep the temp at a constant. maybe if you offset with a 20 gal sump refuge? or even a 10 gal....

id forget the 2.5 gallon if i were you, its almost impossible to keep,temp and salinity flutuations are just 2 normal problems with a small tank, wish you luck, hope it goes well
