Heat a Small Tank

I'm looking to setup a small tank (2.5) gallons with a bumblebee goby and maybe a hermit or two. How do people heat such small tanks? I tried my smallest heater in it once and it kept the water at almost 100 degrees. :)

HEY, for that small a tank the heat from the lights is probably too much so cooling is the bigger issue.Have fun

You can use a 25 watt heater if you can find one. Seems like a lot but small tanks change temp at the drop of a hat.

Thanks guys. I'm doing some temperature testing now. The powerhead may heat things up just enough.

That is going to be hard to keep the temp at a constant. maybe if you offset with a 20 gal sump refuge? or even a 10 gal....

id forget the 2.5 gallon if i were you, its almost impossible to keep, temp and salinity flutuations are just 2 normal problems with a small tank, wish you luck, hope it goes well
