Should I be using my heaters during the initial cycling of my tank? Water is room temperature at 72F. I didn't bother with it when we did our nano, but now we're going to a system that has about 180g (tank, sump, fuge).
The tank will certainly cycle at 72, but I see no reason not to run the heaters. I'm a big fan of treating a cycling tank the same way you would a steady-state tank. It lets you get used to running your tank, and it lets the tank cycle with conditions as close as possible to your end-state.
