heater?battery powered?

With the weather changing is there such a thing as a battery powered heater? I don't lose power often but ice we may all. I want to protect my tank. Any help or advice.!??

no battery powered heater that I know of. you can use a computer style battery backup but depending on tank size, your heater will suck it down quickly.

Generator would be your best bet. They go for $200-$5000.

Fireplaces work nicely, Keep the house warm and the tank will stay warm enough to keep things alive. This works in the short term but a genarator works best to keep you and your tank warm.

If you don't have a fireplace, a generator would be a good investment.

Yup, buy a generator you can easily figure out how many watts your tank uses by looking at each piece of equip you have. Then you can figure how much of a generator you might need. I bought a little more than I needed just in case I wanted to run some other appliances in my house along with my tank.

Yeah Generator is nice plus it can power your whole house if you get a nice enough one.
