Heater placement

So I just got 2 jaeger 200W heaters for my 75 gal
I planned to keep both in my ruby 30 sump.
Because the heaters are so long I would have to just lay them diagonally across the center section of the sump. I couldn't mount them with the suction cups.
Would this setup be ok or should I go with the next smaller size heaters which I believe are 2 inches shorter?
Thanks for any advice.

I run mine the same way without issue (for same reason).

Just make sure the correct portion is properly under water.

If you have ones that fit - it is better though since you will have easier time with maintenance but otherwise it should be fine.

Unless the heater is NOT fully submersible they can lie on there side under water with no problems. I have 3 in my tank (sump) that way.

I think most people who have jaeger heaters place them in a similar fashion because they are so long. With a lot of people having a 9" or 10" deep sump, u don't have much of a choice

Thanks again for all replies.
Got my Carib sea rock and gyre pump today
Gettin close!
After I set up my rock my next purchase will actually be salt!!
(Then I will be posting 50 questions about cycling 😳)
