How do I know what wattage heater I need for a 75 gallon tank? I plan on purchasing a couple. I plan on running 2 heaters during a power outtage from a generator that is 3125 watts. I will also run my pumps on the generator.

3-5 w/gallon

i'd go with (2) 150-200w heaters.

Look into getting a pair of titanium heaters. Avoid the glass ones if you can afford it.

They don't break, are usually more reliable and most have seperate controllers. I use the Via Aqua titaniums myself.

i think im gonna cheap out on these. i will only need them if the power goes out and i need to keep the heat up.

Titanium Heaters are the way to go! I use them in my freshwater tanks and they are outstanding!
