Heaters

Just a quick question how many heaters do you have and what wattage are they if you can also put down how many liters your tank is as well. I am starting my new tank build soon and this is where I'm at a loss as I don't want 4-5 300W heaters all in the return section of my sump. Any advice is much appreciated

I have the same question, starting a 350 in wall with about 550 gallons total.
I would also like to hear what others have done.

IMHO, multiple heaters = a margin of safety. If one goes, either on OR off - not really a big deal. I've got 4 on my system of 150 gallons and will add a few when I get my 210 up on the system.

+1 I've cooked a tank full of fish before when my heater failed and it is not a pretty sight...

With today technology there should be no way companies don't make heaters 100% safe for fish and humans...

+ 1 I completely agree we should be able to add one 1500W heater and not have to worry about the thing sticking in the on position.

No heaters here. In the winter my tank runs at about 77-78* and in the summer I hit about 81*. My chiller has not turned on in over 2 years and I never needed a heater on any large tank that I've owned. Then again, I've always like big pumps which act as heaters.
