Heaters?

Hi all,

I am setting up my first tank since we moved to Florida (and my first marine tank, period) and I have a heater question:

I am doing an 210 gallon FOLR lit by 2 x 6-foot flor. tubes. Anyone have any suggestions for how much heater wattage I am going to need to keep the tank at a constant temp? Anyone have any particularly good (or bad) experiences with a particular brand of heater?

Thanks in advance,
Bill

i have a 300 watt and it doesnt even come close when its actually needed. im gonna go no less then 800 watt next. i have a 220.

I run 2 300's on my 125, not needed most of the time, but as sharkteef stated when it's needed you don't want to get caught with less

Since we moved down here to Central Fl, I've never had the need to run a heater... My tank has never seen temps below 77* in the last 5 years...

i have a 250w "titanium" heater in the sump, i don't think it is on very often, but i don't sit and watch it. I only use it to keep the temp drops overnight close to day time. but in most cases the heater is only maintaining, not reheating the whole tank from 32 degrees each time.

my tank stays between 79 (early morning) and 81 (right before all MH's shutoff).
