It looks like the casing from some type of worm IMO. (Phyllochaetopterus?)

I do have bristle worms (harmless type) - are you saying this could be eggs?

I have this same thing going on in my tank....I can see the work come out and do his thing and go back in....I actually have 6 tube shoots currently
