Hello, advise please.

Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum, but not new to marine fish keeping having kept tanks for about 7 years. I do not consider myself an expert, and still have a lot to learn, so i would say i am an advanced novice if there is such a thing

Anyhoo, my question.
I have a tank that is really mature (about 3 years) and includes live rock, a blue trigger, a saddleback clown, a dwarf fuzzy lion fish and a gold rim tang. Can I say first of all, that all the fish are living very happily together and all are feeding really well on vegetables (cucumber, seaweed), Flake, Mysis and the odd Prawn.

I was thinking of putting an Anemone into the tank for the Saddlback, but don't know if the Trigger would eat it or not? That is my question.

I know all fish are different and have their own mannerisms, and of course they don't read books . Also can i say that the Saddleback seems quite happy without an anemone.

Could someone tell me, in the best of their knowledge if the above idea would work of most likely not.

P.S. I can upload pictures of my tank if needed. It's not the best looking, but I like it, which is all that matters really.

Yes I think you could definitely run into problems with the trigger eating the anemone. There is no garantee that the saddleback will take to the anemone either.

It sounds like you have a good thing going right now. And there are always the exceptions, if your willing to take the chance. I am sure there are others that have done it successfully.

Some pics of your tank would be great, as well as size and lighting method.

Hi, size of tank is only 36" X 15" X 12", small I know, and people say that you shouldn't have small tanks for marine, but I am limited in space, and this size has always worked for me. As I say, the fish are very happy, so so am I.
The lighting is T5 overhead, 3X39 watt tubes, and nightglow lamps for night time. T5 lamps are controlled by timer switch, 6 hours a day on.

Before getting any anemone I would think strongly about getting rid of the trigger and tang, both of those are going to out grow that tank (( if they haven't already )). Plus, both will produce a lot of wastes which will effect water quality.

Oh i love the lionfish, it look awesome, and doesn't cause any probs at all. Eats really well too, although it's not fast enought to get the flake, so have to put a small block of mysis in, which it gobbles straight down so that the other fish don't get it. Really funny!
