Just wanted to say hello again. I have been reefing for about 5-6 yrs. I previously owned a 60 gal mixed(mostly sps) reef tank. 2 years ago i moved house and upgraded tank to a 90 gal. In the process things happened and i lost most of my corals. So i obviously was pretty bummed. I decided to take a little break from having the full blown reef. I still ran the tank and kept it up with all my original fish, just not to the degree of a sps tank, and no new coral additions.
So recently i have been getting back into cleaning the tank up, and surfing the forums. I purchased all new bulbs, new ro/di filters, new ph probe, new, new salt, and new hanna alk checker. Also will try new dosing routine as demand increases. This time i decided to go a little more simple with corals, only a few easy sps, lots of color full zoas, and a few other random finds.
I have some pics and i do have a few corals i was able to frag recently. I really don't like to hold frags i don't intend to keep because i hate looking at frag plugs all over. So sunset monti frags, green palys, and orange/pink cap piece for FT.
full tank(all 6 bulbs on ati/uvl)
sunset monti(2 frags FT) mother is kinda browned out from old bulbs.
blue zoas under ati blues.(thanks ben)
gorg from the last ARC swap
clam with some bubble algae slowly cleaning it all out. (had this clam 3.5-4 years one of the things i saved)
eagle eyes(another saved coral from previous tank. Has some morphs in it)
motni cap under actinics(another saved piece. 2x2 piece FT)
green palys i have a million f/t(great beginner coral to test the waters with)If no one wants them what do you do with them then?
NOT related but something i did during my 2 year break i thought you may find fun, just like a reef.
Houses red eye tree frog, all live plants/moss, waterfall diy from concrete(like concrete reef rock), backing diy from GS foam, live soil seed with springtails, zoo med tank.
skids(my son named him after the green transformer) has blue and yellow sides but hard to get a shot of since they are nocturnal.
Thanks for looking
