Hi all, My name is Adrian. I would first like to introduce myself and my tank.
I have a 72 gallon bow front. It has a 40 gallon sump. Its not drilled( has an overflow box ). The skimmer is a H.O.B. Reef octopus. Two koralia power heads one is 900gph and ones 700gph. Im running 2 48" T5's red sea actinic and pink. And two 36'' bulbs actnic and deep blue both red sea. My tank has been up since december. I was wondering if you guys could help me out and steer me in the right direction for what else i would need to have better coral growth. Im striving for more of an sps dominated tank. (reactors, dosing, food, etc). I will post a picture soon.
Thanks in advance

Nice rocks :) Your question is a little too vague. I would just read the threads here and start getting a general understanding of what it takes to keep a healthy reef. I would be concerned that your lighting is a bit underpowered if you want a lot of SPS. Secret is keep everything stable. Fancy equipment just makes things easier, but not an absolute necessity at first. If anything, its nice to do things manually for a while so you can get a feel for what you are doing, then automate it. Based on that pic, you are nowhere near needing any additives. Also keep in mind that stonies start growing kinda slow, and pick up speed when they get bigger. Once the reach a certain size, they grow pretty fast for the most part. Good luck!

Yes, lighting is a little low for sps
You must start with the basics.. Before lighting, water quality is of utmost importance.. No3 po4 alkalinity and calcium levels must be in check..
Like roster said, you should do a lot reading and research..
Even going through old tanks of the month would give you loads of ideas and info..

Ok thanks guys I will. I'm gonna get another two t5 s. I'll keep reading. So if I would want to get a reactor which one should I buy first?

I've only ever used two ca reactors in my life: MTC Pro Cal and various Deltec models.
They could not be more different in design..
I'd say the Pro Cal is probably the best reactor on the market but is both expensive and noisy..
I've had great success with the Deltec as well.. It's much more quiet.. Not cheap either..

It will be a while before you need a reactor. Try to keep things simple at first, but nothing wrong with edumacating yourself either. IMHO add some light, possibly a fluidized media reactor in case you want to run gfo, and a few tester fags once you feel your water is ready.
