Hello

what drilling? my tank isnt drilled... i was going to run flexible tubing... and pvc if needed

yea i figured the skimmer had a pump would pull the water down through one of those felxible clear tubing.... and then get a pump to push it back up at the other end of the refugium...i could prolly even create a syphoning effect to get the water to fill the refugium and then just add a pump to return it....

well you couldnt do it that way, if one of those pumps ever failed then you would have a mess on your hands, and the sump skimmers have a pump for just the skimmer itself. you dont have to drill the tank if you get one of those overflow things but they are not fail safe either. best way to go would be to drill it for overflow holes. Look up more info on the plumbing it. its hard to explain it here.

well drilling it wouldnt be hard since my tank is acryllic.... but i am weird... i avoid doing things that are irreversible... esp a hole in something thats supposed to hold water....

lol i know, maybe just get a hang on the back skimmer and keep up with maintenance for now and enjoy it if your not gonna get too crazy with stocking it. but if your going to do the sump then i would really suggest drilling it so you have less problems and will look better also.

to be honest..... i think the hangon one would suffice... since i am almost sure that pretty soon we are going to get bored of such a small tank.... i really really want a bigger one, but money is pretty much the only thing that is stopping us..... but i woudnt doubt my brother and i wanting to upgrade to something bigger in a year or so

Yeah i think thats probably best for now. look for reef octopus brand skimmers, probably the best and at good prices.

He is doing very well.... when we first put him in the eel attacked him in the bag.... all he got was plastic.... we went ahead and put him inside and he found a rock to hide under and the eel found it. well needless to say, the eel has left him alone after the good pinch it got from the crab.... Thanks once again for him.... also he has already strarted cleaning the rocks....

 thats good man, he should be molting pretty soon. You wont see him for a while and then youll see his shell in the front of the tank. Its pretty neat.

OK just a reminder.... dont place the power strips under anything that holds water..... damn thing might overflow and create a mess.....

Sure did.... luckily the breaker tripped... and i guess enough water fell to extinguish any possible fire...we had to refill with about 10 gallons.... purchased a better surge protector and placed it to where water cant get to it......
