Wow that sucks on so many levels. I wish I were closer, I would stop over and pick some up.

sorry i cant really help. my recommendation is get the temp down quickly with fans, run carbon and extra filtration, and do allot of water changes over the next few days. How big is the tank that overheated? how long has it been that hot?

sorry for the problem

suggest you buy a heater controller (thank about how you lost compaired to a controller)

jp, what part of town ARE YOU IN, I HAVE PLENTY OF STOCK TANK ROOM, YOU CAN BRING IT ALL OVER TONIGHT & PICK IT ALL BACK UP WHEN YOU GET IT ALL FIXED.

chadfarmer....Oh Gee, You think...the last thing that I need right now is someone to tell me that the sky is blue...

but thanks anyway:<

For someone so young, you seem to think that you know it all. Just wait...It will all catch up to so very, very fast.

Joe lives over on the edge of the Hill. Nice neighborhood...

I will return some frags for you Joe when the ones you traded me grow out.

I'm headed over to beapeams in an hour to take him some more buckets so he can get you some more water.

Good luck through all of this man.

I just got this and I'm at work. My wife has the kids and she's not too familiar with all this stuff but if you need any errands run (water, buckets, supplies, etc...), please let me know and I'll send her out...Wish I would have saw this sooner! Good luck and I hope it all turns out fine!

This is one of the many things that always happens to a reef tank it seems. Once of the best piece of equipment that can be put on a tank is a temp controller like a Medusa.

Sorry this happened and I can help if you need as well.

Joe,
We all understand what a nightmare this has been for you, and the frustration and anger you must feel. Please let us know how we can help now that we are awake and aware of your trouble.

I know of no one in this club or any other club who wouldn't be willing to lend a hand or few frags or whatever you need. This is a very giving group.

You can count on a pair of replacement clownfish from me if you want them.

Kathy

Hey all, I wanted to thank everyone very much for all of your help and concern. I was a "little" frustrated last night and sorry if I was a bit short.

Here is an update:

The bad news...list of survivors so far...most mushrooms, yellow polyps, basically all of the really cheap stuff that I got as a beginner :( , most zoos, yellow goby, two green chromis, yellow tang, blue faced angel (thank the higher powers), both clowns, most snails...oh yeah, one majano that I have tried to kill for months...go figure.

Losses: Every SPS...approx 20...of which none were even close to frag size, both clams, three brains, neon green sinularia, HUGE feather duster...actually every single duster that I can see, xenia & colt (hate to say, oh well), 3 y/o mandarin, lemon peel angel, coral beauty, 2 firefish, 1 yellow goby, 2 RBTA, most hermits, 2 cleaner shrimp, 6 emeralds, very cool orange 6 legged star, orange plate, 2 leathers, all monti (orange, green, and rare purple), all starburst polyp (3 species...5 total), all rics, HUGE purple hairy mushroom, 2 candy cane, orange gorgonia, blue ball sponge, seabae anenome, long tentacle anenome, 2 firefish, neon blue goby, one piece of crap 300wt Rena heater and 1 1/2 5 gallon buckets of salt.

That pretty well covers it until tomorrow morn when I check it. I cancelled a business trip, and am trying to save what I can still. I am buying an Aqua Pro III to eliminate any future problems. This is going to be hard to bounce back from. I actually feel bad for being an irresponsible reefer and being the cause of so much death to these poor critters because I got a little too comfortable with my system. I will not ever make that mistake again.

Thank you all so much for all of your concern and help. I'll be seeing you at Chad's quite a bit over the next year, so stock up Chad!!!
