help, anemone closing up often

had anemone 1 week now, i fed it 2xs and it ate well. but every other day it closes up for a few hours and i was wondering if this is at all normal? Also, sometimes he hides in the rocks and can barely be seen for a day. Can anyone tell me what may be going on?
I have a 180g tank, 850watts halide and pc combo
amm 0
nitrite 0
nitrate < 10
ph 8.4
calcium 400
temp fluctuates from 79 to 82

any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

This is quite common. Anemones do this to flush their waste out of them. The extrete all the water out of them and basically "refill." So what kind of anemone is this?

its a BTA, thanks for the response, this is my first anemone, wasent sure how often they close up.

A good sign of a healthy BTA would be that its mouth is tightly shut, it is not bleached (meaning that its not white or clear) and that its sticky.
