Help!!! Bad algae

I need help I have a 125 reef tank, and all across my sand bed I have a green/black slime type algae. I have tried useing API algafix. But no luck. tried to clean it out with a net just comes back. What do I do??????

pics would help but it looks like it could be some kind of cyano type algae. a little more info about the tank would help. is this a new tank?

I agree sounds alot like a type of cyano. Post some pics if you can and give us some more info about the set up and your maintenance routine and parameters.
