HELP - Brain receding from skeleton

Hi all - After about a year into a maturing tank I was met with a disaster as a failed Marineland Stealth Pro Heater electrocuted most of my coral and inverts (if you have this Marineland will file a claim...I'll let you know if it comes through).

I thought things have stabilized, but a few weeks later my brain coral is receding. Any advise - it seems to be receding from one side. Seems like the wrong (stressful) thing to do, but can I frag it to save some pieces? If so, any links on how I should be doing this?

Question 2 - On the left edge you can see the empty heads of an anchor coral - one head survives and the extension looks good...if I leave the skeleton will polyps ever propagate to the empty heads?

I'd leave the dead skeleton in the tank because sometimes polyps do grow back in them but it'll take time. If the skeletons are empty after 2 months you could always cut them off.

About your receding brain you could check the flow and try feeding it. If your parameters are in check feeding it should cause it to recover.

i wouldn't frag the brain. Since it's only receding from one side is there anything on that side that could be affecting it?
