HELP!!! BTA and CLOWN PROBLEM

first my bta isnt doing so well... i hasnt been looking right for a week now... when i first put it in my tank about 2 weeks ago my dog face tried to eat it, so i solved the problem and took him out. it was going a lot better a few day after my clown shortly went in to the bta. now my bta looks sick, it looks inflamed or swollen. the tips are extremely small and it is wide open my levels are fine 8.3ph my nitrites arent at zero but is very close and isnt close to 0.25. every once in a while ill get a very bad smell coming from the tank. i was wonder what i can do for it and to protect my tank...

second my clown has this round spot on his tail, its tan in color like skin. its been there for a few days now and cant figure out what is going on with him... could this have anything to do with my bta problem...:mad2:

What lights?
What are all of your water parameters, with numbers -- including salinity.
How long has it been set up?
What all do you have in that tank?

40g breeders, 1.23, nitrates 0.00, ph 8.3, anomie 0. tanks been up for about 3 months. temp 78. i have a 192w light, i have about 25-30bl of live rock... one humu trigger, purple dottyback, 3stripe dam, blue hippo tang, yellow eye tang, one clown... ive been treating the tank for with algae fix... and adding purple up a few days a week lights on about 8-10 hours a day, feeding prawn or brine shrimp 2-3 days a week...

The salinity should be 1.0256.

What type of bulbs? How many?

Stop with the "algae fix"

You have 3 fish that don't belong in that sized tank -- the trigger and 2 tangs. That is a HUGE bio-load for that sized tank, and not surprised that the anemone isn't doing well.

96W CF Lamp 12000K,96W CF Lamp Actinic Blue, the trigger is about 1 1/2 and blue tang is about the same lil smaller and the yellow eye maybe is 4 inches. so up the salinity and stop the algae fix, should i lower the amount of time the light is on?

Reducing your "lights on time" might help with your algae problem, but you really need to consider reducing the number of fish in your tank. Your trigger and tangs will very quickly out grow your tank, if they don't die first.

Without a picture of your clown's injury, it's hard to say what it is for sure. Could be that one of the other fish nipped it battling over territory in the tank.

Something else to keep in mind, Triggers are not known to be reef compatible, and could be what's continuing to damage your anemone.
