Help. Can't Figure This Out

So I've been watching the tank for the past week or so and I have abunch of stuff in my water Column floating around everywhere. Can't figure it out. I thought it was at first because I hadn't changed my filter socks in a couple of weeks. So I did a 10% water change, changed my Zeostones (Running Zeovit) and changed my carbon. Been 2 days and all this stuff is still around. Almost acts like I have no filter socks. But I am running 2-7" filter socks. 180g Tank - 67g Sump. Parameters are all good. Its not seeming to affect anything except the water isn't clear.

I took a video to try to capture it. You have to look for it, like right at the beginning look near the bottom between the 2 rock columns. Just focus on the water, not the coral or fish. You'll see it.

Help? Thanks in advance.

Looks like normal detritus to me. There's millions of tiny organisms pooping, reproducing, eating, and moving around your aquarium all the time. I don't think filter socks are going to get rid of everything, and I for one am in the anti filter sock camp which believe that all those little particles are good for corals and any other filter feeders.

I agree my sump has filter sock holders and I have not used them once and if it is detritus in the water, that is a good thing because you want to keep it suspended in the water column.. also if you are adamant about filter socks you might want o consider changing them every other day instead of let weeks go by I can only assume that they build of nutrients pretty quickly.

I've learned to live with the 'floaties'. I really only notice them directly under the brightest light, looking at the black background.
My sump water is crystal clear, skimmer works well and no algae issues.
As long as the corals and fish are thriving, I'm happy.
Besides, I don't think the ocean is crystal clear at the macro level either.

That system is very very very clean and sterile.... I don't see anything in the water column at all aside from the fish...

Boy if you saw all the various crap growing on my rocks and microbubbles you'd flip :)

There's nothing on those rocks (coraline, algae, etc). Seems like this is a pretty new system, so maybe also dust from the rocks?

The sand may not have settles and some of it gets kicked up?

Bacterial bloom?

pretty sure what your seeing is just fine particulate maybe some pods.. dust particles... detritus could be a combination of thousands of different things. I think its safe to say that most if not all peoples tanks have these particles floating around in their water.. completely normal and as long as it is not harming anything then I wouldn't be alarmed.

If you really want cleaner water - I would get a Marineland HOT Magnum or Canister filter and run it with the polishing filter installed. It will make your water crystal clear.
