Looking for an assit here. I got a pair of clownfish in the mail yesterday from a fellow hobbyist and while both are stressed this one appears very ill. He was on his side when he arrived and has been since. His skin looks like it has open sores and a purplish tint all over. I started with PaziPro to treat yesterday (Day one) and now would like to know if any has had the same issue with a fish and what you did to achieve sucess or what ultimatley happned inyour case. Really want to save this picasso. Again, its till alive. Laying on its side. Thanks in advance. Murf

They were shipped and at my home in less than 24hrs. Heat pack failed. Came in at 63 degrees. Maybe colder upon pickup and while enroute. I have mericin 2, formalin, general cure by ApI, and EM Erythromycin on hand. CP will be here tomorrow or Saturday. 2maro if needed. I dripped them for about 1.5 hrs then floated and added small water 1/3 cup every 15-20 min. For another hour before adding. He was like this from the minute I pulled the bag out from shipping. Just lays on side.

How is his breathing? I'm leaning towards a bacterial infection so antibiotics would be the treatment. Another idea is Vibrio. I don't know much about it but there is a thread going right now on it with pics that might offer assistance.

It was brook. The fish I ordered are known to be carriers. And the cold temp and stress causes their immune system to be compromised.

Brook is not like ich, being able to carry the disease in very low numbers, then suddenly the ich is a big problem. IMO: These fish came from a source that must have been showing signs of brook. IMO & IME; clownfish cannot live with brook very long; regardless of their immune system.
