Help! Coral Beauty

So my one month old coral beauty is breathing heavily and likes to stay in the bottom right corner of the tank. He looks fat and his poop is white and has been attached for over a day. I've been having problems with my alkalinity which is at 8 and my PH is low( 7.6) could this be a factor or do you think he is sick? Thanks guys.

I suspect worms too. I always QT and treat for worms before the fish are introduced to the DT. It solves lots of headaches.

Thanks guys. I ran to the store and got some seachem metro. It says to shut off all filter, exc. does that include skimmers too?

If your adding medicine directly to the tank you shut off every last thing except lights heat and flow. You are going to have to do a massive water change. You could also cause an alagae bloom or kill off bacteria in the rocks.

Sounds like worms to me too. Prazipro or something with the same ative ingredient will be fine.

ok thanks. I added Seachem metro last night. I turned off my canister and my skimmer. But then turned on my skimmer before bed. Ill go home and assess. Ill check my parameters and keep you posted. thanks davehead86

I hope the best for you and the angel. Be extremely careful with your tank now and keep aeration (including the skimmer) as high as possible. Keep alkalinity at 7.9 to 8.3, using Kent Alkalinity buffer by its directions if needed. You urgently do need a hospital/qt tank. Do not get another fish until you have completely come through this.

I checked my alkalinity last night and it was at 8. I picked up some seachem fusion 1&2 to dose with. I will keep and eye on it. thaks Sk8r
