HELP... Could my Anemone be taking out my tank?

I lost my orange shoulder tang last night and two more seem like they are on there way out...

I checked all my levels and they seem normal...

Could it be the Anemone killing the fish? Stinging them or releasing toxins?

If so what can I do?

Neither of those is likely to take out a healthy tang. What size are your tangs, how many do you have, and what are the symptoms they are displaying (you mentioned "two more" may be on the "way out")?

Kevin

the one orange shoulder was about 6" long...
and I lost a fire angel ....

What happened was that one anemone released themselves and ended up landing right on the other one... I have since removed them from the tank and put into a hospital tank...
I am running lots and lots of carbon right now...

Is there are way to test for the toxins?

Anemones don't have "toxins." They have nematocysts. Nematocysts are "contact-fired" stingers. While there might be a few situations where a few nematocysts would be released into the water column, IMO you'd need a major mechanical event (like a powerhead puree) to release enough nematocysts to cause a fish kill. Especially since neither of your anemones are particularly known as fish killers, and you are talking about some large and (usually) robust fish.

Carbon can't hurt, in case you have some other toxin that entered the tank, but most of those I would expect to affect corals and the anemones as well.

So, what were the symptoms of your dying fish?

Kevin

Well he looked fine when I went to bed at 9 the night before ... breathing looked normal and whatnot... and when I woke up this morning he was dead... the other two were on there sides which i found not to be normal

Not exactly sure what that could. Maybe a parasite or something? But I know it def. wasn't your nems killing them as those types are just never known to kill fish, especially something of that size

Nothing has been added to the tank. I feed them at 9 and they looked good. They all where swimming and eat. 11 o'clock my wife woke me up to look at orange shoulder. He was black and not swimming well. He had what looked like a punture on his back. He died at one o'clock. The flame angel died at seven this morning.

Sorry for the confusion. I was at work and couldn't get signed in so I called moonlightdriver to help. So far after running carbon filter all day into today and adding tons of carbon to the sump I have not lost anymore fish. I have both of the anemones in another tank right now. Still looking for answers on what could have caused this to happen so fast. Any advice would be great. Thanks for the advice so far.
