Help! Crocea is Gaping.

I came home tonight to find my Crocea gaping. He was wide open and the mantle was not extending past the shell. He also has a yellow growth inside and he could not close up all the way when I tried to pick him up.

I closed him by hand and put a rubber band around him so he doesn't stress.

Is there anything else I could do? He had been doing fine all week long.

Also, there were some bubble on top of the water. Everything else in the tank is fine, but I did a 20% water change just in case. Tests are fine.

Post this in the Clams Direct forum. Barry can help you out alot better. Also a picture would help:)

Thank you for your reply.

I've had him closed up with a rubber band since last night. I removed the rubber band a while ago and found that he regained some strength back and is able to keep the shell closed. I put the rubber band back on and I'm going to see how he does tonight when the lights go on. I'm on a reverse light cycle due to summer heat.
