Help cucumber question!

Hi folks... Some ball is growing out of my sand sifting sea cucumber. It's been eating fine, I kinda moved a bit from a chuck of live rock that it was attached to two days ago, it then climbed the glass and today I noticed this growth... Am I heading for a cuc nuke or is she splitting ? Thanks!

I'm not sure how sharp those spines are, but it almost looks like a sponge got caught up with the cucumber. How does it feel to the touch? You might be able to pull it right off.

Been watching the cuc and the oval thing fell off. Cuc is still on the glass, oval thing settled to bottom. Fish and corals seem happy, but the cuc is acting a bit odd

I'm 95% sure it's a sponge. Cucs like to hold on to things with pretty sticky suckers. I have several yellow ones just like yours.
