Hi...I am very concerned with my elegance coral. He was doing beautifully in my tank for the past month. A few days ago I noticed one side was not opening up and stayed inside its skeleton. When I picked him up to examine him closer a bunch of the flesh just floated away. He still feeds well and his tentacles are still sticky...

Tank details:

55 gallons
Eheim 2215 filter
UV sterilizer
Nitrate 0
Ammonia 0
Temperature 79
Sg 1.025
Calcium 500
Phosphate 0

Other inhabitants:

Orange ball sponge
2 different zoanthids
Green star
Orange plate
Hammer
Candy cane
2 damsels
Scooter Blenny
Live rock

All other corals are doing wonderful...full extension and new growth.

I add iodine, calcium and trace elements weekly according to the package directions.

Does anyone know what is wrong and how to help him? We love this coral and hate to think we are losing him!!!

Hate to tell ya this but elegance corals are well known for being very challenging. Alot of people wont even touch them. Its an LPS so check your PH/KH there sensitive to PH changes.
