So past two days he has been lethargic. And today he's out by the front glass and looks like he has bunch of bristles in his face from my Bristleworms....are they attacking it? Will he live? Anything I can do?

Here is a pic hard to see with the algae on the glass but they are on his cheek and in his eye

Here are some more pics they are a bit blurry but you can see the white things sticking out of both sides of his head. He seems to be eating still. He loves in the same rock that my 2 biggest Bristleworms live in. Both are about 8' long and fat!

They look like flukes. A couple questions.

1: how long have you had him?
2: where did you get him from?
3: tank mates (they will need treated)
4: did you QT? If so what was the treatment process?

Edit:
I see them now, it's highly suspicious of flukes. Since they are now infesting the display tank, I would just treat the entire tank with prazi-pro. Triple dose, take the cup off the skimmer, turn off UV if you have it. I would do it ASAP.

My QT Process was TTM followed by 1 week rest. 1 week Prazipro double dose. Did this 2ce then 2 weeks observation. He is the only fish in the tank. Only other tank mates are inverts and corals. No skimmer running atm due to setting up Sump. And my lights don't have Purple or UV. Only blue and white and 2 reds...

Inverts are.
Mini brittle stars.
7 trochus
1 skunk cleaner
4 Bristleworms.

Have 7 different types of zoas and a frogspawn. Would Prazipro be okay to dose in with them?

I can put a bubbler with some air stones to keep oxegyn levels up. As well. But I definitely want to dose my DT and I am almost certain the fish didn't have this before going in.

Looking at the first pic, I do see what looks like bristles near his eye as well as some in the side shot in the second pic. (I also see the bristle worm in the background on the first pic.) He could've just gotten a little close and caught some bristles. Often times they will fall out after a few days and the fish will be fine. IMO, I'd just keep an eye on him for now. I don't really see a clear indicator of flukes in the pictures.

You don't think those look like flukes? I guess he could have gotten nailed. Looks like flukes from my chair, but I'm looking at a smart phone screen.

Yeah the only thing that concerns me is its on both sides of his face evenly by the looks of it so unless the bristle worm wrapped around him I can't see him getting hit on both sides....unless the two on there sandwiched him. But they do look like little tiny bristles little white spikes sticking out.

Yeah, I looked pretty closely, but aside from what looks kinda like bristles, I don't see any blotchiness, cloudy eyes, his color/fins look pretty normal, and the OP didn't mention the fish flashing or doing anything else abnormal that might point toward flukes. He also did ttm, 2 rounds of prazi, and it's the only fish in the tank. Although, I could be wrong too. Just didn't want the OP to panic and keep an eye on the fish before thinking immediate action was required.

I'll keep an eye on him a few more days and if no improvement I will dose Prazipro

But yeah he isn't shaking his head or running against things. Seems to be eating. He is swimming around a bit more now but still pretty lethargic compared to how he usually is. He is usually always staying in the current sifting for food. But now he is kinda hanging low and moping around kind of.

Update:

He is definitely "flashing" and under better light I saw white spots along his tail fin.

Dosed 16ml of Prazipro based off 1 tsp = 6ml
In a 36g tank should be almost triple dose.

I will check on him tomorrow. Hopefully my zoas and frogspawn don't die :(

Bristleworm spines are a piffle---they drop off after 3 days; but flukes are a must-treat.

Yeah he was acting really strange last night. Rubbing on rocks. Twitching around. I decided to treat just to be on the safe side.

I can't find him today though :(
And aside from moving my rocks I have checked everywhere with a flashlight.

I'll give it a day. He went into hiding when I did Prazipro in QT as well so could just be a bit stressed.

I would hate to lose this fish after so much QT time to an infested DT I didn't even think to treat...

Just glad it's a 2
$20 firefish and not my 100 picasso clown Juvies I am picking up at the end of the month....still sucks though.

Well day 3 of Prazipro almost triple dose. And I cannot find him anywhere I will be removing all my rock work in the hopes he is just hiding.

Hypothetically if he is dead. Would my bristle worms have eaten him? One seem A Lot fatter then I remember......and he was like 2x the size of the firefish before....I know they don't attack live creatures but how long would it take for them to dispose of a corpse? Got about 4-5 decent sized ones in there. 2 are massive 10" long about inch wide.
