Torch, my dwarf Fireball Angel, retreated to the LR 32 days ago when an upright piece of LR toppled.
He stayed in the LR for 28 days. I could see him through a hole in the LR. I would drop food pellets down to him through the hole and he appeared to come to eat.
However, Torch emerged from the LR on day 28. He retreated to a sheltered corner of my 72G where he hovered about an eighth of an inch above the substrate in a fairly constant, very slow, clockwise spin -- around and around he would go, not swimming in a circle but in a slow spin. I put nori and food in his vicinity but I only saw him nibble on the nori a couple of times.
He's looking pretty thin.
Today, he has moved to the front of the aquarium, still hovering above the substrate, but the spin is gone. I just noticed, however, that his tail is split. Again I dropped food to him that he seemed to ignore.
I don't know what happened to Torch to make him retreat to the LR. He's still alive and upright and I'd love to see him healthy again.
There are no bullies in the tank that I've seen. Two false percs that hang out by the overflow, two scissortail gobies that like to hide in the LR, and a LMB are Torch's tankmates.
If you have any suggestions for me regarding Torch, I'd appreciate them!
Lynn
