HELP!! Haddoni in Vortex Intake

My red carpet decided to move last night and this morning I found it partially caught in the Vortex powerhead. Luckily, the force was on low.

I disconnected the powerhead and placed the attached anemone in a bucket. About an inch of unexpanded tissue, not involving the foot, is stuck in the outer grid of the vortex. Tried ice cube that didn't work.

Anenome looks good, no dead tissue and I placed back in the reef hoping it will self escape.

Any suggestions or should I just amputate the stuck tissue and place in hospital tank for a day or so.

Wait for a better answer for now but leave him along he should be able to get out him self

If no real damage, just let it work itself out. that may mean an inoperative pump for a few days.

that is what I would do... Give him a little time and he should be able to get out himself

Separated last night. A little bruised but slurped down a nice chunk of shrimp today.
And the 5 onynx clowns are back at home.

In the future just turn the powerhead off and leave it alone they can get out on their own almost always. It saves adding to the stress.

I think that it is reasonable to place it in a bucket until you're sure that it is okay. Otherwise it they are really stressed, they can release their neumatocysts and poison the reef. Happened years ago with a Ritteri.

A Haddoni isn't going to go nuclear over an inch of flesh in a powerhead. You risk it more by putting it in a bucket (probably with no aeration no lights and no heat) then sticking it back in the aquarium later.
