Help! Hanna PO4 meter not working?

My Hanna PO4 meter arrived yesterday. It works like wonder only briefly. I measured my 200GL 4 times in a row and the results are all very close at 0.03, 0.02, 0.02, 0.03.
In my 500GL I get reading at 0.06, 0.04, 0.06, 0.07

I may not have cleaned the glass curver immediately and now the results are all pretty high when I test today. Even distill water I am getting 0.09 ppm! The water from Phosban Reactor was testing to be 0.02, 0.01 and 0.01 for 3 times and now also tested 0.05 ppm. Also my tank tested at 0.06 - 0.07 is now becoming 1.2.
Everything just not seemed working again.

What can be done? Can I bleach the glass curver and expect the results to return normal?

it is pretty difficult to keep the cuevets clean.....i keep mine stored in RO/DI water when not in use....and when testing i spend most of my time wiping them off...and making sure theres no bubbles inside

High turbity interfers so does high iron

What could be the reason of high reading (0.09 ppm) on distill water?

Sorry missed that . What about batteries?

Are you zeroing it out before adding the regent then testing it?

Call up hanna and troubleshoot with their techs. I talk to them a few times a week and they are VERY knowledgeble about their products.

I just received the unit the day before yesterday. Probably I should replace the battery to try again.

I zero out each time I test a new sample.

Could the containmination produce such outrageous result?

This is really ****ing me off to pay so much that last only 1 day :mad2:

Yes, depending on how much contamination there is.

Im tellin ya, call or email hannah, worst comes to worst, they will ship you a brand new meter for free :). I doubt it would be worth it for them to have it shipped back from indonesia. Good luck :)
