Move all your livestock to a new tank then switch out the saltwater with vinegar water to this tank and let it run til the coraline disintegrates.

I'm thinking that you'd have better luck with a phosphoric / nitric solution, but I'd be worried about the seals. Not sure how they would hold up to such.

Vinegar turns coraline to mush in minutes. That is the best and safest way to remove coraline. Remove the livestock and rocks, fill the tank up with water and vinegar and let it soak for a bit. Then scrub it. The coraline will come right off like it was nothing. Absolutely no reason to use anything else.

I would love to seed my tank with some of that, but unfortunately every one that had suggested vinegar is correct that is the only easy way other than a credit card scrapin.

Found a pad with integral scraper for mighty Magic that is working pretty well. Got about an hour in and getting close to 50% complete. May need to buy some more pads to finish up. I'll post pictures in a bit.

OK, I know this post has been dead for awhile but I got some more energy to get this task finished. I used the magnavore 8 with acrylic (small triangular pieces of acrylic) that act as scraper. After probably 10 hours of work I had the coralline 95% complete. I had a ton of coral trimming to do (probably took out 2-3 5 gallon buckets full) and bought a sanding kit that's made to work with the magnavore 8 and with livestock in. It has mixed grits of sand paper from 1300 to 3500. I must say the sanding was a must (took several hours) as the coralline had etched the acrylic and it wasnt very clear in certain areas. After the sanding it looks perfect, nearly as good as when it was new. Moral of the story, CLEAN YOUR TANK REGULARLY!

I sand jets for a living and paint and detail the paint, I know how sanding it must have been to get it that clear.
