Help! How to frag zoos from rocks you cant get from tank

I have very large pieces of rock (20-40 lbs) that I am starting to be worried by the amount of zoos and yellow polops I have. How can I frag the zoos and polyps off the rocks without removing them? I have pink, orange, red, green, mint green, and star burst zoos that are overrunning my tank and I need to trim down by at least 50%

Hmmm, that would be kinda tough, hammer and chisle underwater is the only option. If you have enough room to get rocks in place then the zoos will grow on them and you can just remove and replace.

Unless the rocks are flat and you can lift the zoos with a chisle or knife.

Just use a very sharp chissel and put a lot of pressure on it and slowly under cut the zoos into the rock a bit ! Works great, but use a sharp chissel or it will not be pretty !!!!!!

They are all on rocks verticle. I dont think I can hammer and chisel, so I guess I will use a filet knife and just toss them

if you use a knife and just cut them in the tank you could be in a world of hurt-depending on how much carbon you are running and how many are cut. They will release toxin that can be deadly to you and other tank creatures. From what I saw from you pics a month ago, removing the rock should not be that rough. If you kill them in the tank make sure you are running carbon and wearing rubber gloves and hope for the best. I would do as Chad said hammer and chissel and try to cut the rock. good luck

Naw, order a set of bone cutters and go at it that way! I do it all the time. The rock is really brittle like they say. Sure, go at it with a chisel but that can be kind of hard in an underwater situation. BONE CUTTERS! got any let me know I might be able to stop by and let you borrow them for a frag of zoas. :D

Hope you work it all out. Seems like a good problem to have. LOL
I have a new pair of bonecutters if you need...

I've decided on which way I'm going with my tank and Zoos are part of it so let me know if you're selling?

PS- I never heard back from you. Do just want me to stick the MSS in the mailbox?

Bonecutters now that would be the better option as the rock should break away as you clip with them. It may not look nice after but that should work for you better based on how your rock is situated.
