I belive this to be a soft coral. Click on my Red House and it is picture 23 of 32 on my photo gallery. Thanks. When you put your mouse over top of picture it will say picture number...

It's a gorgonian of some kind. From the Caribbean, I'm assuming by the rest of of the fauna and flora in your tank. Is that from TBS? Nice stuff!

Yes it is TBS, Thanks for the compliment. Do you know of any particular care that I should take for it? I have been using Kent's Micro Vert... Fellow Ma. Native!!

Well, not a native, more of a transplant :D. Does the gorg. have brown polyps or white (when extended)? If white, then it's non-photosynthetic and you will need to feed it. If they're brown, supplemental feeding will be appreciated (just don't overdo ot and foul your water), but they will get most of their energy from the light. Just a quick word on the Caulerpa... It grows very quick and has one helluva grip on the rocks. Make sure you want that stuff in your reef forever, or start plucking now. I like the look of your tank, but if you're not sure you want it, get it out now before you're knocking over corals trying to get it out later. Keep us posted!

A gorgonian is like a sea fan: it eats from the water---I think it uses phytoplankton, and its polyps can be one color while its body is another. Some feed only at night. They're rated fragile, and they're not quite a soft coral. If I were keeping them, I'd observe the standard for lps/sps water, [cal 400-420, ph 8.3, alk 8.3, salinity 1.025, temp 80ish] and try to avoid any nitrate or ammonia whatsoever.

The polups look black or a dark brown when extended...
Thanks Testhead... I do like it. Actually the last day or so I have this mithrax crab that only eats algea and stuff of rocks got a little bite of the coral... I kept knocking him of but he attacked it... It's bruised but I think it is okay as all the polups are out in full.

I took about 85% of my rocks out and eliminated all the crabs and a couple of Clicking shrimp I had....

SK8tr Thanks for the info as well. I will pay attention to those readings...
