Help...Leather is shrinking!

Hello, I have a small leather...it is flourescent green and looks like a piece of broccoli....I don't name the official name for it. I had it for some time, a small patch of hair algae starting growing on it. I gently rubbed it off with a algae scrub pad...I did it before and it worked well. However this time there was white tissue showing and the wound only grew. I finally cut the wound out and soaked it in seachems iodine dip. It's color is good however it looks as though its stem keeps shrinking (the wound was on the stem). Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

My cabbage leather kind of did this. I just purchased it and it did not handle my acclimation process. Never got back to its size and algae started growing on its skin. It has been living in my 10g QT. I am interested if anybody follows up cause i am in the same position. It is hard to tell if its even alive. The only way i figure so is that it hasn't disintegrated.

What is the flow rate you have the corals in and the lighting intensity? To really do well they need strong lighting and a medium to strong current flow. As with any coral water quality is important although the softies seem to be a bit more forgiving then the LPS or SPS. I grow mine under MH and T5 in high flow areas of the tank and they have always done very well.
