My clown fish came out of her usual "home" in a piece of live rock and she seems to have bug attached near the base of her tail. She kind of laid in the sand for a min then might have been rubbing on a rock. I caught a quick glimps of a clear bug(it looked like the front part of a potato bug but had a fan tail like a shrimp) it had 2 black eye spots, and it looked like it might have had some small legs in the tail end.She was swimming fine but went back in her spot before I could get a picture will try if she comes out again. She doesn't leave her little cave offten and I usually only see her head so I don't know if it has been there long or if it is even hurting her .She is about 1 1/2 -2 inchs and the "bug" is about the size of a potato bug.Any ideas on what it might be and how to remove it,or if i should.Couldn't see how it was attached but it was on there pretty good with all her swimming and moving and not falling off.

I had an infestation of these and your outcome is pretty bad. You can 1) Nuke your tank with interceptor 2) Do what I did and use cat dewormer which is about $3 a bottle and it killed my VERY small infestation (options 1 and 2 will destroy most of your tank) or 3) take your tank apart and bake everything or 4) hand remove any you see on your fish and pray they don't reproduce.

How long has your tank been running? I would take everything out, put it in QT and then dose the tank with interceptor (which is proven) or this (http://www.walmart.com/ip/D-Worm-Liquid-for-Kittens-Cats-Puppies-Dogs-8-oz/14053423). I used the piperazine from walmart and I dumped the entire bottle in my 55 gallon and let it sit for a week with the stuff in it. Either way, you're going to get a lot of die-off and One way is 100% proven (interceptor) and I'm the only person I know who has tried the piperazine and it worked for me but it's not been done on any other tanks. Interceptor, although proven is VERY expensive at the dose you will have to give your tank. I can't exactly remember the dose but it's way more than you would have to use on red bugs. If you need any advice, PM me because I went through this as well.
