I've had a handful of Dells, HP's and a few Vaio's...I currently have a Toshiba Satellite and love it much more than any other I've owned.

If I was picking between these 2 I'd go with the 2310 as the only key differences I see is 1 to 2 ram and 160 to 200 hd but that's just me.

However, most importantly, get rid of VISTA!!!

Check the toshiba's, lenovo, or dell. IMO, vaio's are overrated and overpriced just because they say sony and have fancy colors.

check out the real nice ones owned by dell called alienware computers, i just got a aurora 7500 desktop computer with amd dual processors. As far as power goes on fast high end laptops dells xps has scored higher than alienwares laptops a few times.
my 3 top choices is dell xps models, alienware, and voodoo computers, these all make the best machines a computer junkie could want.

I got a freakin HP again. It's nice and polished!!! 650 for a new laptop is not bad I guess. 2 G Ram, 160 G HD and a whole bunch of other stuff I don't need.

It also has freaking VISTA. I already hate it.
